8-channel electromyography

The K7 Functional Analysis System uses 8-channel electromyography to record the baseline condition and neuromuscular activity of up to four muscle pairs. Muscle activity at rest, as well as before and after therapy, is documented and enables a differentiated assessment of the treatment intervention. Analysis of innervation at maximum occlusion is used to assess the quality of occlusion. Furthermore, a frequency analysis for fatigue diagnostics and a representation of the bite contact derived from the muscle recruitment are available.

Magnetic kinesiography

The magnetic kinesiography of the K7 functional analysis system records the mobility of the mandible three-dimensionally in free space. The habitual occlusion and the neuromuscularly optimal occlusal position, as an important basis for a neuromuscularly aligned bite splint, are determined. The very small and light (2g) magnet adhering to the mandibular anterior teeth is detected via the outer arch weighing only 180g and its movement path is displayed on the PC screen. Thus, only the K7 system allows recording of the natural physiology; the bite is taken with the highest precision between relaxed resting position and habitual IKP with simultaneous EMG monitoring - without any interferences.

Electrosonography

The K7 functional analysis system enables differentiated recording of temporomandibular joint sounds with the aid of electrosonography. The recording is made during mandibular movement during opening and closing over the entire range of motion. Amplitude and frequency spectrum show in detail structural damage to the hard and soft tissues as well as functional restrictions. Incipient functional disorders or tissue damage can thus be detected at an early stage and presented to the patient without radiation exposure.
